What is MasonMUN?

The primary mission of MasonMUN is to foster a dynamic, engaging, and rigorous environment that fully embraces the educational and diplomatic aspects of Model UN, promoting global awareness and civic engagement among its participants.

The conference structure is distinctly characterized by its complete student governance. All committees are meticulously created, organized, and executed by MasonMUN members. The conference typically offers three to four specialized committees, with past examples including:

  • Luna Sovetskaya: The Red Moon
  • Lines in the Sand: Carving Up the Ottoman Empire
  • New York City: War on the Rats

Our Purpose

MasonMUN is designed to enrich the purpose of being a delegate by creating an engaging, dynamic environment where participants can fully immerse themselves in debate, diplomacy, and collaborative problem-solving.

Leadership Development

The conference serves as a key platform for delegates to demonstrate and refine their leadership potential by engaging in dynamic debate, collaborating on resolutions, and navigating complex diplomatic challenges.

Commitment Demonstration

Active participation in MasonMUN serves as an important way for delegates to demonstrate their dedication and commitment to the Mason Model United Nations club through consistent engagement, preparation, and involvement in conference activities.

Organizational Training

It provides invaluable experience in the preparation, diplomacy, and complex problem-solving required to excel in a substantive Model UN simulation.

Substantive Engagement

By empowering delegates to engage deeply with their topics and shape the direction of debate, the conference ensures a consistent focus on substantive discussion and critical analysis of global policy issues.

We hope each delegate is fully immersed in this experience and enjoys their time at MHS.
