Hello MUN leadership! The usage of masonmun.org can seem complicated, but is really simple once you get used to it. The first thing you'll want to do is log in as an administrator using the neat "admin login" button on the top right.
In this page, you will see many buttons, lets break them down.
Pages
The first section is "pages." This is where you can create pages just like this one. You will see a google-docs-like editor where you can edit text, add images, etc. Just know, if you want to add images and text side by side, you'll need to align the image to the right and drag it to the header of that section, similar to google docs. It may be a bit harder because this is an integrated rich text environment and not a software. If you still struggle to do it, let me know and I can demonstrate.
The URL slug is essentially the url. For example, the URL slug for this page is how-to-use, meaning to view the page you would go to masonmun.org/how-to-use
VERY IMPORTANT: to add links, you can't just set the link to be "yourlink.com" or else it will lead them to masonmun.org/yourlink.com. Instead, if you want to take them to an external page, you must write the full https://yourlink.com in order to take them to a seperate page.
Navigation
This section may be a bit harder to master, but it is where you can edit the navigation bar at the top, and the footer at the bottom.The navigation bar editing is the simpler one. To add a page to a footer or navbar, you just press "add new item."
For the nav bar, you would give it a "label" and attach a link and the custom URL slug. For example, this page would have the following info:
- Label: How To Use
- Location: Navbar
- Parent Item: None
- Link to Page: How To Use
- Custom URL: /how-to-use
- Order: 0
Now the confusing elements are "parent item" and "order." These essentially allow you to add dropdown menus. For example, in the footer, you would make a label like I have called "resources" with no link, parent item, or custom URL, and then all future links would have "resources" as the parent item. This works in the footer and Navbar.
Home Page
The home page feature is there so you can edit images and information as you please for future years. It is pretty self explanatory. Please reach out to me for issues at 330-232-4445 if you have troubles
