Problems in Paradise: WW2 in the Pacific

The date is February 20th, 1942. Pearl Harbour has been bombed; battleships lie on the sea floor. Singapore has fallen; the airfields across Oceania have been bombed to shreds. The Japanese march is unstoppable, capturing resources to fuel their never-ending war. Allied forces are scattered, beaten, shrinking, and starved. The conquerors—liberators to many natives—stand unchallenged as Western eyes and resources remain on Europe. As island after island snaps under Japanese pressure, it is your duty to stop the hordes and shine the beacon of liberty over the Pacific once more.

From the Chair:

Hello delegates, my name is Gowtham Shankarlingam, and I’m super excited to chair this committee. I am a senior returning to MUN for my 6th year, and I will be coming up on my 7th year. I plan to major in environmental science or environmental engineering. I love traveling across the U.S., whether it be hiking in the woods, observing Civil War battlefields, or going to zoos. Other than traveling, I enjoy gaming, hanging out with my friends, and watching sports. I love the WW2 era, and I am really excited to share my enjoyment of it with you guys! So excited to see you all in January! If you have any questions, send them to me at [email protected]. Best wishes.
